A BELMONT North man, 45, is $100,000 richer after winning first prize in the $2 Jackpot Lottery draw yesterday.

He bought his ticket in draw 8571 from Redhead Newsagency after feeling it would be his lucky day.

"I took my son to the beach and I had a strong feeling to go and buy a lottery ticket at the Redhead Newsagency," he said. "It feels quite weird now that it's won."

The jackpot is $8.75 million for draw 8572.
