THE Hunter has two new millionaires following big wins in major lottery draws.

The latest came on Saturday night when a ticket bought in East Maitland won $1.35 million in the $27 million Lotto Super Draw.

In Thursday night's Powerball draw, a ticket bought from Scone Newsagency won $3 million.

Both winning tickets were unregistered, meaning NSW Lotteries was unable to contact the winners with the good news.

However, Charlene Stout, from the Hills Newsagency in East Maitland, does not think the money will be left idle.

"I'm sure as the news gets out we will be inundated with customers eager to check their tickets and find out if they are the lucky winner," she said.

Those who missed out this time fear not, because lightening can strike twice.

Ms Stout said it was not the first time their newsagency had claimed a big win.

"A couple of months ago we also sold a $100,000 winning ticket in the $2 Jackpot Lottery and a $500,000 winning first division prize in Monday Lotto within a week," she said.
